As a child I've always looked at roads and highways as a destructive dangerous path between what isn't ours and what we make ours. As a humans we can act selfishly sometimes without
thinking further than the surface. I put a deer laying dead with the city sky-line behind it to represent that. Collage of words are placed where blood would be dripping from the deer

A fly mask or fly cap is a mask used on horses to cover the eyes, jaw, and sometimes the ears and muzzle to protect from flies. From afar this mask looks like a torture device, but it keeps the animal safe from us.

This is to represent the over working of animals and the view of them being machines to make and sell product by some corporations. It is a play on the tale of storks delivering babies, and how we would take advantage of them if that tale were true.

Even when not literally tied down, weight of expectations or enviorment can make it feel that way - I like to use rope because it is made from natural substance and recreated into something to use for control

There are a lot of issues behind the use of animals – issues with any domesticated animal, or those in zoos or aquariums, or those in farms and fields. We use them for consumption and for advertising and for money. ( In that way my use of them is not so different.) People adopt animals so as to make a personality statement. You are cool and hip if you have a French bull dog and or selfless and caring if you have a rescued mutt. Pets use us in the same amount as we use them - they have evolved to survive off us in an exchange of affection for food and shelter. This piece is zeroing in on dog fighting. The control and power that people gain off of using dogs to vill void of something the average person doesn't do in their mundane lives. The color gold is the color of extravagance, wealth, riches, and excess. In this painting of two dogs fighting, one is bleeding the color gold to represent that.

Dogs use us in the same amount as we use them - they have evolved to survive off of us in exchange of affection for food and shelter, I’m not against dog domestication I’m just more or less reflecting in my art a lot on behavior between humans and dogs and less literally - freedom of speech and gender stereotypes and expectations. I think dogs are a topic almost anyone can relate with but are often not associated with anything other than “mans best friend” and or how cute they are.. the issues behind using them - similar to using any domesticated animal, like in zoos, and farms - we use them for consumption and for advertising and for money as well as control.

Eagle attacking a scorpion - the zodiac sign Scorpio is associated with three different animals: the scorpion, the snake, and the eagle. Eagles and Scorpions are both supposed to represent a personality, while realistically they have very different reasons for existing - we often romanticize different animals and forget the primal side of them (including humans)

I painted a dead bird I found which flew into a window, then ceremonially buried it after. It is Painted it on a piece of paper from a book to represent that death can come in the middle of a sentence, when you'd least expect it, and the story isn't every fully readable.

*Three piece collection* 1/3 tiger- poaching - As an apex predator, intelligent primate, and a commonly known as farm animal; Tigers, apes, and cows are just a few of the animals used today to fulfill our own “desires, wants and needs” such as poaching, cosmetic/medical animal testing, and slaughtering. These animals also hold the status of being worshipped by religious groups from around the world. In these paintings using acrylic paint on canvas, these animals are depicted with a Halo above their heads which is used in many religions to indicate holy and/or sacred figures

I am reflecting on the meaning of the word ‘control’ and the idea of dogs as products
and The bold black and white gesture lines are to emphasize the differences between what we expect verses what we want.
